About Us
The Arizona Gaymers at our core is based around the simple concept of being a place where anyone can feel comfortable in being who they are. For young or old, male, female or anywhere in between, our goal is providing a safe place for meetups at relaxed stress free locations. We pride ourselves on reaching out to numerous other queer social groups in the valley and are always open to networking with additional LGBTQ groups.
The beginning of the Arizona Gaymers has its roots during 2020 when so many social groups became defunct or withered during the troubling times of Covid. In November of 2020, the group was started with the primary hope of looking toward a time when getting together could once again take place. Early on the focus was just on online chats and gaming, but by June of 2021 the group held its first official meetup and has been going strong ever since.
In the fall of 2021, we were proud to march in the Phoenix Pride Parade for the first time, and have made a point to march in each paradise since then offering a place for anyone that wants to be seen and be proud of who they are. Pride is perhaps the biggest event of the year for many LGBTQ groups, and marching in the parade is something we look forward to every year.
In June of 2022, we went as a group to Phoenix Fan Fusion and had an amazing time reaching out to the vast ocean of Nerds, gamers and fans of all forms. As a social group founded from nerds, geeks and gamers, having an ongoing presence at Fan Fusion is another huge high point for us.
